On The Wish List

Christmas has sprung upon us once again, whether we are ready or not! In turn with the festive season comes the time to think of presents to purchase and place under the Christmas tree. For some this can be a daunting process and is often left to the last minute, procrastination purchasing!

Not all presents require a large amount to be spent and I find the best way to prepare yourself for Christmas is by first making a list of your recipients and then working out your budget for spendings.

Researching on the internet before hitting the stores is a fundamental piece of the puzzle to reduce frustration and impulse spendings when in store. By having even just a rough idea of what you are looking for can speed up your time spent amongst the crowds and also allows retail assistants to help you in finding the right gift.

Sharing is the spirit of the season, so below are a few of the pieces that I have found in my travels.

A great gift idea from Mecca knowing you aren't just buying for a loved one but are also helping out women and young girls for The Hunger Project.

For the guy in your life with the lumberjack beard, Hair House Warehouse have a great gift pack for the male in your life that takes pride in his manscaping.

Twenty sixteen is nearly upon us, for the organisational type amongst family and friends this gorgeous 2016 Diary from the Collective Hub is a perfect addition to go under the Christmas tree.

Christmas is all about giving and our animal friends also need love and care not only at this time but all year round. Edgar's Mission are an amazing gift idea for children and adults alike, becoming a best buddy will be the gift that keeps on giving all year round by sponsoring an animal in need.

Overview : Industry Experience

During my time as a student at Orana endless doors of opportunities have been opened into the ever changing industry that is fashion.

Undertaking many different aspects of the industry I believe draws so much more than you can ever imagine and you begin to learn so much more about yourself and capabilities as a person.

My journey began with my first volunteering event at MBFW April last year. An amazing experience that saw a week full of challenges and insights into what really goes on behind the scenes of such an event.

From there was just the beginning of understanding the direction I would take over the year and the different avenues - including assisting on the Myer S/S launch, interning at Fleur Wood, assisting on further runway shows backstage to assisting on the print publication Alchemy Mag.

For me the more experience I gained in any element of the industry was another skill or knowledge that I didn't have before. Along the way being surrounded by talented and focused people heightened my desire to succeed in the fashion world driving a force of hard work and determination.

VS || Twenty Fourteen

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is an annual event that fashions elite and socialites alike date mark in their calendars with anticipation ahead of all the glitz and glamour that is associated with VS.

The early 90's saw the first of the fashion parades being made to public viewing taking effect just days before Valentine's Day. A clever strategic and promotional campaign that was certain to produce high sales quota through word of mouth as these shows were not yet aired on television.

1999 was the year Victoria's Secret Fashion show graced the television airwaves with the date of the event being moved to the latter end of the year weeks out before Christmas and this is where it has stayed.

High end models from around the world are selected to be one of the prestigious Victoria's Secret Angels. Miranda Kerr, Heidi Klum, Cara Delevingne and Alessandra Ambrossio are just a few of the elite that have been given the opportunity to sport the title of a VS Angel.

There are 20- 40 models elected to be used in the show which also features well known artists to perform during the show as the models strut their stuff down the runway. Rhianna, Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are just the beginning of the celebrities that have been selected to perform.

The show itself has had a high presence in New York City along with many other states in America over the years. This year saw the angels travel across the seas to London.
