As another years rolls past this is the time we often look back and reflect on the year that has been and in turn begin to make lists of our new years resolutions.

VS || Twenty Fourteen

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is an annual event that fashions elite and socialites alike date mark in their calendars with anticipation ahead of all the glitz and glamour that is associated with VS.

The early 90's saw the first of the fashion parades being made to public viewing taking effect just days before Valentine's Day. A clever strategic and promotional campaign that was certain to produce high sales quota through word of mouth as these shows were not yet aired on television.

1999 was the year Victoria's Secret Fashion show graced the television airwaves with the date of the event being moved to the latter end of the year weeks out before Christmas and this is where it has stayed.

High end models from around the world are selected to be one of the prestigious Victoria's Secret Angels. Miranda Kerr, Heidi Klum, Cara Delevingne and Alessandra Ambrossio are just a few of the elite that have been given the opportunity to sport the title of a VS Angel.

There are 20- 40 models elected to be used in the show which also features well known artists to perform during the show as the models strut their stuff down the runway. Rhianna, Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are just the beginning of the celebrities that have been selected to perform.

The show itself has had a high presence in New York City along with many other states in America over the years. This year saw the angels travel across the seas to London.

Behind OSE

The face behind OSE began from a love of creativity, curiosity and the world that is fashion.

A simple girl from regional Queensland with a desire to delve into the fashion scene further left family and friends behind taking the leap to move to the 'burbs in the fast paced city, that is Sydney. From there, embarking on a new venture in attending Orana Fashion Business College saw many doors opened and opportunities eagerly awaiting.

Attending and assisting at events such as Fashion Week, Myer Spring/Summer Launch and the endless opportunities interning within the print media world, fashion styling, event launches and the networks that I have engaged in will forever be something I am thankful for.

Back in 2012 when I began this site I purely wanted to document my style and deliver insightful posts to anyone and no one in particular that may stumble across my little blog on the wide world of the internet. For me posting isn't about reaching numbers, I simply write for the love of it and hope those that stop by enjoy reading my words.

OSE portrays my style through simplicity with a strong belief in less is more enjoying all aspects of the fashion scene regardless of high level to fast fashion, I believe there is worth in any garment with the right eye to style it.

Pantone Colour of the Year 2014 |Radiant Orchid

As the year draws to a close we reflect on the year that was dissolved in the Pantone Colour of the Year - Radiant Orchid.

From its range of soft tone to dominant hue, Orchid was seen on runways to racks worldwide with its appreciation of style being shown from socialite to street wear engaging in the infamous tones of what were twenty fourteen.


Runway style adopted the colouring setting the standard for the fashion year to come portraying all aspects of Radiant Orchid delivering endless options for the fashion savvy.

Celebrities soon followed suit stepping out in the fresh tones of the new colour of the year.

The reality of the street wear for this style provided dominance in wares showcased through outerwear to layering different tones of the colour to cement its stance in the fashion circle for 2014.
 

                            

Snapshot Style | Atlantic Pacific

Blair Eadie is the face behind the infamous fashion blog that is Atlantic Pacific.

Her love of fashion saw her begin her career at GAP merchandising in the early years to now where she is the director of accessories at Tory Burch. 

Originally turning to blogs for her own inspiration led into the birth of Atlantic Pacific. Her chic, effortless style exudes through her daily posts on her wares mixing high end with fast fashion to her endless followers of Atlantic Pacific.

For me I feel that Blair's tailored yet vibrant style of fashion delves into more than just an outfit. I admire her style of mixing levels of fashion and myself am a true believer of not always spending top dollar for an outfit, which Blair cements in her daily posts.

Trackside Fashion

Spring has sprung and so we see the racing season off and running with fashion's fillies set to turn the heat up trackside.

Caulfield Cup twenty fourteen saw visions of monochromatic textures and prints alongside vibrant tones of red. Eyes will soon be drawn to fashions elite come Melbourne Cup day embracing the style and nationwide event that stops the nation.

This season will see headwear take centre stage through visions of structured fedora hats, statement style fascinators and the always chic mesh veil.

Fashion's elite strive to be captured by the infamous Bill Cunningham in his well recognised blue parker and push bike.

Staying true to his own beliefs and values throughout his illustrious career is what has driven Bill to engage in the bustling world of fashion and deliver shot after shot of inspiring real images straight from the streets of New York, Paris and London.

To fully understand and gauge the interpretation that Bill sees of each image captured one must really extend their knowledge of this inspiring man and watch the documentary "Bill Cunningham New York" delving into the personal side of his life.

Living at the renowned Carnegie Hall amongst fellow creatives in authors, actors, designers and dancers saw Bill continue to live in his confined apartment happy living within his means not desiring anything further.

Bill as such does not have specific clients that he photographs, rather delivers captured shots of socialites, celebrities and the everyday man or woman that draw his attention through their wares in pieces or accessory pieces. For this reason I am drawn to Bill's work as he enjoys the pure nature of the fashion industry and only photographs images that are true to his style.

Sitting front row at many fashion shows Bill rubs shoulders with fashion's elite ready to view designers new collections and delivering images from a different point of view.

Bill began a millinery business in his early years prior to being conscripted to the army only to return to instil his foot in the fashion world further by returning and working for the Chicago tribune as a writer. From there the doors opened, Bill submitted a piece to the Times and before the industry knew what they were welcoming, they turned into weekly submissions to this day capturing candid fashion images on the streets of New York.

Fashion Festival Sydney| THE EDIT

Sydney's historic Town Hall hosted the fashion elite for the annual Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival this past weekend.

Among the headline shows depicted the true style and talent from within the industry with the finale runway edit of the Australian Fashion labels including : Cameo, Finders Keepers, The Fifth Label,
Jaggar and Keepsake.

This diverse entry of 5 labels depict a chic, simplest tone to the fashion forward world that transcends in my daily wares with a unique twist to each collection reasoning as to why this is my selection from the festival.

2010 saw the rise of Cameo as an iconic fashion label within Australia and abroad through their fresh take on contrasting prints and bold silhouettes.

Style icons in Solange Knowles, Courtney Kardashian and Jamie Chung are just a few of the fashion elite to showcase the wares of Cameo the Label.

A confident, independent woman strives to wear the label securing their own sense of style through Cameo's strong aesthetic of wearable innovation through each of their collections that have been delivered thus far.

A gap in the ever changing fashion world saw the latest label instalment of The Fifth Label born. Fashion designer graduate Amy Hicks was entrusted with the creation and aesthetic of the label developing styles and looks for the every day woman at an achievable price point yet always being point on in style shining through in their first collection this June.

High detail in production through materials and key notes on basic pieces ensures the label to stay a step ahead of the fashion pack with a rewarding backing by its customers defining the newest label to hit the market as right on target for a savvy, fresh take on easy wear pieces through denim, tees and free style dress shirts.

A true collection for the tom boy at heart yet still endures the want for chic new pieces for their wardrobe the Fifth Label stylers are engaged and wanting more from this fresh faced label to grace their closets.

Fashion blogger elite Song of Style has been spotted sporting a two piece matching skirt and top in their tropical print through endless realms of the social media forum resonating to the fashion circle a fresh new label is on the market.

Brand Manager and Head Designer Carmen Dugan is the face behind the label that is known as Keepsake which saw it enter into the fashion market in 2011. The strong stance and aesthetic of the brand is shown in each of its creations with a happy balance of details and simplicity which resonates with its buying market and followers.

Soft, yet demanding cuts present a fashion forward woman to the streets with a busy life formatted in their choice of style and chic wares, that are Keepsake. Luxe fabrics and its "modern femininity" as described by Carmen has captured eyes of the elite sector in fashion through their pieces being worn by Mila Kunis, Carrie Bickmore and Reese Witherspoon.

The London Brief

An envelope of floral sachets surfaced on the runway at Marchesa 2015 Spring Summer collection. 

Intricately laced gowns were embellished with sheer textures producing a soft feminine silhouette. Layers of lace and floral appliques combined to present a new fashion era for the Marchesa woman.

Georgia Mae Jaggar opened the show in style in front of the fashion elite such as Anna Wintour, Rita Ora, Olivia Palmero and Daisy Lowe.

Marchesa have sealed their style and aesthetic of branding through the partnership that developed when graduates of Chelsea College of Art and Design, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig joined forces and skills to create, Marchesa in 2004.

Since the creation their wares have been showcased in Vogue, had a cameo appearance in Gossip Girl and designed the wedding dress of renowned fashion judge, Nicole Richie.
