The London Brief

An envelope of floral sachets surfaced on the runway at Marchesa 2015 Spring Summer collection.

Intricately laced gowns were embellished with sheer textures producing a soft feminine silhouette. Layers of lace and floral appliques combined to present a new fashion era for the Marchesa woman.

Georgia Mae Jaggar opened the show in style in front of the fashion elite such as Anna Wintour, Rita Ora, Olivia Palmero and Daisy Lowe.

Marchesa have sealed their style and aesthetic of branding through the partnership that developed when graduates of Chelsea College of Art and Design, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig joined forces and skills to create, Marchesa in 2004.

Since the creation their wares have been showcased in Vogue, had a cameo appearance in Gossip Girl and designed the wedding dress of renowned fashion judge, Nicole Richie.

Stockists of the label include, Shop Bop, Neiman Marcus,Net-a-Porter and Helen Rodrigues.

Stylist Spotlight : Cher Coulter

Cher Coulter is a name to withstand the days and years of the forever changing fashion world that we have all grown accustomed to as a stylist. From her early beginnings of fascination with colours and illustration in her early teens saw her focus in the field turn to studying fashion design in London before developing her clothing line.

Her rise to fame began when she ventured to LA to showcase her wares to Flaunt Magazine and from there was asked to style the front cover edition with her old friend, Orlando Bloom on it. The rest is truly history with many celebrity covers at the hands of her talented style from Jessica Biel, Kate Bosworth and Sienna Miller.

Her branding drew further a field when she and friend/client Kate Bosworth merged their sense of style into their own jewellery line, Jewel Mint.

Simple, eclectic styling of Coulter appeals to the range of style icons regardless of their celebrity stature from Rosie Hunting-Whitely or Elizabeth Olsen and for this reason I really find her style to be welcoming and fresh from delivering event wear to street style.

MBFW - The Week That Was Fashion

The world's fashion elite congregated at the Lincoln Centre in New York this past week to be witness to the up and coming Spring 2015 collections from endless designer names including Diane von Furstenberg, Alexander Wang, Mara Hoffman, Rachel Zoe to Australia's own Zimmerman.

Carolina Herrera was at the forefront of the fashion world well before Olivia Palmero opted for a sweet cardigan shorts and a tulle overlay as her wedding dress and looking at her new Spring collection there is no doubt as to why.

From a young age Carolina was sought to develop an inspiring style of sense with her grandmother introducing her into the world of fashion through attending Balenciaga shows and gifting her grand daughter pieces by Lanvin and Dior. Her socialite fashion status was created through the doors of Studio 54 with her accompaniments including Bianca and Mick Jaggar as well as Andy Warhol.

Her development into the designer world came when at time editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland suggested to her best friend to create a clothing line and so she did just that.

Herrera's 2015 Spring Collection defined the woman within the influential designer through her thoughts of " "My eye was accustomed to see pretty things".

The "location" of a garden styled themed runway with green sculpted fixtures set the scene for a journey of simplicity with focus on intricate detailing with models weaving throughout the audience in a maze like sequence. Frow attendees included fashion royalty in Anna Wintour, Bill Cunningham, Grace Coddington, Olivia Palmero just to name a few.

The collection as described by Herrera is simplistic lines for the now.

The simplistic elegance of the collection in the white hues and graphic prints to the dramatic silhouettes and stylised cuts drew my eye to the designer with complimentary sculptured hair styling within their fresh faced models.

Stockists for the Herrera label can be found in Harrods and Saks Fifth Avenue.
